Our 2026 Fall Trap Tournament Event beneficiary is: Jacob Walton.
Jacob Walton is a 6-year-old Osceola boy who contracted STEC-producing Ecoli from a zoo trip he took in May of 2025. He developed Hemolytic Uremic Syndrome from Ecoli resulting in intubation and dialysis. The Ecoli infection also required an ostomy bag and multiple abdominal surgeries. His ostomy was reversed in December 2025, but he has had ongoing GI issues since then. Unfortunately, he is hospitalized nearly every time he gets sick due to a lack of an immune system and was recently released from yet another inpatient stay. He is now on a feeding pump for failure to gain weight.
Jacob has what is called, End Stage Kidney Disease. He is currently receiving 4-hour long dialysis treatments at Children's Mercy Hospital in Kansas City three days per week. Due to ongoing GI issues, the process of receiving a kidney transplant is slow moving. While we pray for a new kidney for Jacob, it will not cure his illnesses. End Stage Kidney Disease is a terminal and incurable disease requiring recurrent transplants and interventions throughout the remainder of his life.
Jacob has 2 older siblings and is looking forward to starting Kindergarten this year to allow him as much of a normal life as attainable.
