Samuel is an 8-year-old boy who goes to school at Osceola Elementary School. About 18 months ago, he contracted bacterial meningitis which spread to his brain. The infection was cut from his skull during brain surgery at which time the doctors discovered a blood clot. He was transferred to St. Judes where multiple tests confirmed blood clots in his brain and internal jugular vein. The blood thinning injections deteriorated his bones, and all treatment was quickly stopped. Recently, his headaches have been excruciating, and it was found that the blood clots have returned. Doctors are searching for a treatment plan. Samuels's mother is a local dispatcher, and he has 4 loving siblings at home.
